Welcome to Montessori Teacher Education Institute-Houston
The Montessori Teacher Education Institute-Houston (MTEI-Houston) is a Montessori teacher education institute affiliated by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. It is also accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).
Executive Director
My Le Vo received her Montessori Primary certification from Institut Catholique de Paris, France, and her Montessori Elementary certification from N.C.M.E. in San Diego, California. She received her B. A. in Elementary Education and French from East Texas State University and obtained a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Thomas University in Houston, Texas in 2013. She has been a Montessori teacher since 1972 and an instructor at MTEI-Houston since 1980. She has written various training manuals and designed educational materials. She directs Montessori Learning Institute, a school in the Houston area for children ages 3 months to 8th grade, and teaches Elementary children in her school.
Teaching Faculty
Our faculty is composed of dedicated, experienced, and knowledgeable instructors. They share their vast knowledge and great love of learning with students, and guide them into becoming efficient, caring and strong teachers for young children. Their goal is to facilitate the development of teachers into competent guides who nurture the children’s love of learning and help them achieve their full potential.
